A light red field blend created from organically grown grapes from our vineyard in Turnastone, Herefordshire. A field blend refers to grapes being picked on the same day and co-fermented. Our field blend is made up of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Cortis and a little Solaris from some of our oldest vines planted in 2009.

2022 was a beautiful summer offering welcome relief from three tricky years in 19,29 and 21. After a cool start to the spring we were fortunate to avoid late spring frost. Initial grow was slow however when the weather picked up in July and August the potential for an excellent year was there.

Hand picked in mid October, the grapes were in excellent condition. All varieties were crushed together and left on the skins for 5 days. This allowed natural fermentation to commence. The grapes were then transfered to the press for a gentle squeeze. The resulting juice racked to two old barrels where fermentation finished. The barrels were topped up and the wine left to age gracefully for the next 30 months.

In spring 2025 the wine was racked and bottled by gravity and allowed a further 6 months in bottle  before release.

Does your wine contain sulphites? We never add sulphites to our wines, however, a small amount do occur naturally during fermentation. This means that often our wines would be classified as sulphite free (below 10mg/l)
